AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: Princess is a miniature poodle that weights approximately 10 lbs. and is around 9 years old. Princess is a low energy dog. She wants nothing more than to be with someone, sit on their lap, and receive love. Princess was given to a family member after her elderly owner could no longer care for her. However, due to a change in living circumstances, the family member was unable to keep her. Princess tolerates other dogs, cats and children, but would do best in a quiet home where she gets all the attention. She walks well on a leash and loves car rides.

Princess is excellent health for her age and has just received a dental. Although she walks with a limp from a severe break in her back leg from several years ago, it does not cause her pain or significantly impact her abilities. She has been evaluated by veterinarians that advised against any corrective action to fix her limp at this point and provided that it should not pose any health issues. Although she may never win a race with another dog, she is easily able to walk, run, jump, and go up/down stairs.

Princess is just looking for a quiet home where she can get all the love and attention she deserves. Adoption fee is $225.00 which includes all vaccines, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip. Adoption applications may be found at www.animalconnections.org. Please email us directly for any additional information at fermiller50@hotmail.com. Thank you for your interest and your patience.

2 years ago Miss Foxy was helping children read. I hope she is still volunteering with the kids.

Foxy, a nine-year-old Papillon, enjoys story time at the PAL Pajama Party at Mt Pleasant Neighborhood Library last night.

Can’t stand those cold winter nights any longer? Adopt a puppy to warm your heart! We are now taking adoption applications for Sophia, Gypsy, and Hazel. All three puppies have been raised in a home environment, handled since birth, and socialized with dogs of all sizes. They have just started with their crate training and are doing wonderfully. They will be available to go to their new forever homes on Friday, January 19th. Since they will require further veterinarian visits for their booster shots and spay (included in the adoption fee), we will be only be accepting applications from individuals in and around the Charlottesville, VA area. For more detailed information on each puppy and to obtain an adoption application, please visit our website at: www.animalconnections.org.

Animal Connections shared Fluvanna County Sheriff's Office's post.

We want your animals to be safe and healthy this winter. If animals are found outside with inadequate shelter in these extreme frigid temperatures, the owner will be given a warning to provide their animals with adequate shelter.
Animals left outside with inadequate shelter where an owner cannot be reached or if the owner fails to comply with the warning can be seized and the owner can be charged with animal cruelty.
This cold snap is expected to last for several more days and we do not want to see any animals freeze to death or suffer from these frigid conditions.
Thank you.
"Adequate shelter" means provision of and access to shelter that is suitable for the species, age, condition, size, and type of each animal; provides adequate space for each animal; is safe and protects each animal from injury, rain, sleet, snow, hail, direct sunlight, the adverse effects of heat or cold, physical suffering, and impairment of health; is properly lighted; is properly cleaned; enables each animal to be clean and dry, except when detrimental to the species; and, for dogs and cats, provides a solid surface, resting platform, pad, floormat, or similar device that is large enough for the animal to lie on in a normal manner and can be maintained in a sanitary manner. Under this chapter, shelters whose wire, grid, or slat floors: (i) permit the animals' feet to pass through the openings; (ii) sag under the animals' weight; or (iii) otherwise do not protect the animals' feet or toes from injury are not adequate shelter.

Foster or Forever Home Needed: Meet Toto!!! This adorable boy was owner relinquished to a kill shelter. He has been groomed, neutered, and caught up-to-date with his shots. He is such a happy and loving boy. Around 3 years old, this boy is a bundle of fun and energy. He is looking for an active foster or forever home. He does well in his crate and is happy to see everyone he meets. He does well with people, children, and dogs.
